Running events shorter than the 800-meter run are referred to as sprints.

A glove fit racing flat is recommended for this explosive, short and fast paced type of running.  The racing flat should be approximately half a size smaller than training shoes with no wiggle room in the toebox or in the heel [1].  Although the best sprinting flats are extremely light they tend to provide little support throughout the foot.
